Children's Ministry News
Our Children Church ministry serves children ages birth to 5th grade. We always love having our youth volunteer to help each Sunday too!

Sunday School Ages 3-6(9:00-9:45am)
Our Sunday School group is continuing to work through the alphabet. This month they go from T-W. By the end of August, we will be transitioning into our next book by Rozekids called Top 50 Bible Lessons. It starts with Genesis and goes all the way through to the New Testament.
Each week we add a new song to our story time and all their artwork is making our room come alive. They are building their own Bible alphabet book and will soon be taking them home. A note of thanks to Bethany Fincher for volunteering to be the weekly Sunday School teacher.

Sunday School – Elementary ages 7-10 (9:00-9:45am)
Our Elementary Sunday School group is finishing up the Old Testament. We are on the minor and major prophets. In order to finish up the Old Testament, we are abandoning our SOAK curriculum and exploring 1 or 2 prophets a week. Last month we started with Isaiah and Nehemiah. It was interesting to learn about these two prophets and how they were so very different but called to do the same thing.
Children's Church - Ages 3-6 (10:00-11:00am)
They use the nursery room for Children’s Church time and that’s where they have a liturgical moment as well as snack and time to use what they learned in Sunday school through play. In June the children enjoyed having their liturgical moment lighting their battery-operated candle (the light of Jesus), saying their prayers, and fellowshipping together during snack. During their free play time last month we made crowns, talked about and explored feelings, delivered letters to all the Sunday School Groups, and gathered grain (yarn).

“The word of God is an amazing book, full of stories of men and women on journeys toward God and his love for them. These life-changing stories deserve to be told as creatively and enthusiastically as possible to help children grow closer to God and capture their imagination. Object lessons demonstrate and cement truth in their minds and help children focus on the truth you are trying to convey”. This introduction comes from the Book Top 50 Object Lessons Games & Activities created by Kathie R. Phillips. We are going to use this book as our curriculum for worship in Children’s Church over the summer. It’s a topic thematic approach and I think the children are going to really enjoy it. July 2025 worship topics are:
July 6– Battle Fight (Exodus 14:14), July 13th-Fair, Not Fair (Phil 4:11), July 20-Family Ties (Joshua 24:15) , July 27th – What's Cooking (James 1:22)
The object lessons for these topics will include Tug-o-War, candy, bicycle wheels, and cooking something yummy!

Bethlehem Children/Youth Mission Alliance
The children have been busy being God’s hands in the “Blessing Cart” garden. They have been praying for it, weeding/watering it, and feeding it. The plants are starting to yield vegetables and this month we might be able to give some to the Blessing Cart! Here are some of the veges we harvested and donated to the blessing card.

Mission (continued)
The Youth are exploring an opportunity to bring VBS to a local church that may not have the resources otherwise. We are in the beginning stages of developing this idea. Our goal is to train interested youth in helping to lead a VBS program out in the community.
